With the 2025 Call to stitch, we seek the creation of an enormous collective artwork made of secondhand clothing that showcases the strength, diversity, beauty, and magnitude of collaborative action in the world.
We are in the midst of an eco-social crisis, climate change, and severe ecosystem degradation. The UN conferences, known as Climate change COPs, which should be coordinating the transformation towards a society that sustains life, are stuck in a system of manipulation, economic interests, and corruption.
What are climate conferences?
Large corporations, whose production systems are the biggest contributors to planetary degradation and social injustices, control decision-making, advertising, and both regular and social media.
We know that the majority of the world’s population would prefer to take care of the planet rather than to swell the coffers of the billionaires.
We also know that there are countless small and powerful actions starting in communities all over the world. The great shift towards a just and regenerative world is already underway but it is only the beginning, and most people still aren’t able to see it.
Many people continue to believe the messages transmitted by mass media and think they can’t do anything to stop environmental degradation. They probably don’t know or simply can’t imagine a society dedicated to the sustenance of all living beings.
That’s why we devised this project to Regenerate Hope.
This artivist project helps all of us to make visible and credible the community actions we sustain, to value them, learn from each other, gather experiences, and thus multiply grassroots initiatives.
Let no one tell us that changes cannot come from below!
«Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has»
Margarte Mead
Participatory artistic actions can make us aware in a special way. They are in themselves transformative actions that help us and allow us to approach difficult topics with love and joy, so that we can face them and imagine new forms and alternative ways with pleasure and hope.
